President Buhari has advised Nigerians to vote for the candidates of their choice in next year’s general elections. He gave the advice while breaking fast with members of the judiciary led by Supreme Court Justice Olukayode Ariwoola last night. President Buhari who is also seeking a second term and will be running for president next year, said “Let them vote for anybody they want across ethnicity and religion and impose their decisions on them. I think that is what I am calling on and I am begging the governors to please continue with voter education so that people will take their permanent voter card seriously and make sure that they don’t lose them''.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Sunday said that it had set May 26 for rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) for more than 12,000 candidates across the country. The Board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. This category of candidates, he explained, are those whose biometrics were not captured during the initial period of the UTME in March. He said: “It would also include those, who are yet to see their results since the end of the examinations in March till date and have not been involved in any form of malpractice. “It will also include those, who were unable to print out their e-slip before the earlier examinations and those whose centres were cancelled for suspected malpractices.’’ According to him, “there are centres that were cancelled because of suspicious activities but the board was unable to identify the actual culprits. THE Nigerian movie industry, yesterday, was thrown into mourning as popular actress, Aisha Abimbola, reportedly died in a hospital in Canada. Abimbola, also known as Omoge Campus following the role she played in a Yoruba movie, Omoge Campus, is said to have died from breast cancer, though the cause of her death is yet to be revealed by her family. President Muhammadu Buhari has departed the United Kingdom for Nigeria. Buhari’s return trip was disclosed by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the United Kingdom via its Twitter handle on Friday.
