A total of fourteen States have recorded COVID-19 related deaths. As at Wednesday, the number of States with confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria has also increased to thirty-four. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, as of Wednesday night, April 29, confirmed 196 cases of COVID-19 in the country. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1728. However, there have been 307 recoveries and 51 deaths from the deadly virus. DAILY POST on Thursday, compiled the list of fourteen States in Nigeria, with deaths recorded. Covid-19: Ooni donates motorised modular fumigators to Oyo  ....says homegrown efforts should be encouraged …Efforts commendable-Makinde  The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, on Saturday, donated two locally-fabricated modular fumigators and drones to the Oyo State government to assist the state in its effort to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus. We just finished the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force meeting. Here are some of the decisions which we took. The State Secretariat will be reopened on Monday April 27th 2020. Only civil servants at level 13 and above with separate offices will resume. The following guidelines are in place to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 within the State Secretariat; 1. There will be new security measures in place including having only one gate to serve as entrance and exit. All other gates will be closed. 2. All meetings will be held online. 3. The General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has predicted a big fire outbreak in the country. Adeboye, who gave the warning during a live service on Sunday, also alerted Nigerians about impending flood. Governor Umar Ganduje has sacked the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, for rejoicing over the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced that Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) donations had risen to N25.8 billion. CBN Director of Corporate Communications, Isaac Okoroafor, said in a statement on Friday. The donations were from 107 donors, including individuals, banks and other corporate bodies. The spokesman conveyed gratitude to all the institutions and individuals that have generously donated. “We urge others to consider contributing to this national solidarity to provide not only medical equipment and materials but also to render urgently needed palliatives to the poor and vulnerable segments of our society. “We hereby restate our commitment to full disclosure and accountability for all donations made,” he said.

The Nigerian presidency, Saturday morning, announced the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari. Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, made the announcement in a statement. “The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020. May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly”, he added. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Friday night, confirmed 51 new cases of COVID-19.
